kevinudy.com is Kevin Udy's personal site. This page explains what little information it collects, why, and how to opt out. The only tracking on the site is Google Analytics.
Who runs this site
Kevin Udy operates kevinudy.com from Colorado, in the United States. Questions about this policy can go through the contact form.
Information collected
What you send. The site has no accounts and no store. The only way to send information is the contact form: your name, email address, company (if you add one), and message are emailed to Kevin so he can reply. They are not added to a mailing list, sold, or shared.
What's collected automatically. Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) measures how the site is used, such as pages viewed, how visitors arrived, and general device, browser, and approximate location information derived from your IP address. It's used in aggregate to understand and improve the site, not to identify you. Google processes this data on Kevin's behalf under Google's Privacy Policy; see how Google uses this data.
Cookies and consent
Google Analytics cookies measure site usage as described above. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Consent management (CookieYes). In regions where consent is legally required (the EU/EEA, the UK, Brazil, and Switzerland), a consent banner is shown and analytics cookies load only after you agree. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can opt out at any time. Review or change your choice whenever you like in Cookie settings.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, it's treated as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies.
No advertising or social trackers. The site runs no ad networks, no Meta/Facebook pixel, and no third-party social tracking. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's storage. It never leaves your device.
Spam protection
The contact form is protected by a hidden "honeypot" field and a small proof-of-work puzzle your browser solves before the message sends. It runs entirely between your browser and this site: no third-party CAPTCHA, and no information about you is collected or shared to do it.
How information is shared
Your personal information is never sold or shared for advertising. Limited data is handled by the services that make the site work: Google (Analytics), CookieYes (consent preferences), and the mail provider that delivers contact form messages. Information may also be disclosed if required by law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how it's processed, or to withdraw consent. These include rights under the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the Colorado Privacy Act. Because no personal information is sold, there's nothing to opt out of on that front. To exercise any right, use the contact form.
Data retention
Contact form messages are kept in Kevin's email, including after your inquiry is resolved, as a record of the conversation. You can ask for your message to be deleted at any time. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics' retention settings.
International visitors
The site is operated from the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the U.S. and other countries where its service providers operate.
Children's privacy
The site isn't directed to children, and personal information from anyone under 16 is not knowingly collected. If you believe a child has sent information, use the contact form and it will be deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the "Last updated" date above changes.
